Drew Pariano, a celebrated wrestler and respected coach with deep ties to Fairview High School, has passed away, leaving the wrestling community in mourning. His death was announced with an outpouring of condolences from former teammates, classmates, and colleagues.
Pariano was a member of Fairview High School’s Class of 1995 and was later inducted into the Fairview Alumni Hall of Fame in 2008. During his high school career, he established himself as one of the most accomplished wrestlers in Ohio, earning three state championship titles and cementing his legacy as a Warrior standout.
He went on to compete at the collegiate level, where he became a three-time Big Ten placer and a three-time NCAA Tournament qualifier, achievements that reflected both his talent and relentless work ethic. Pariano later transitioned into coaching, eventually serving as head coach at Northwestern University, where he influenced and mentored countless student-athletes.
Those who knew him remember Pariano not only for his competitive success, but for his leadership, dedication to the sport, and commitment to developing young wrestlers on and off the mat.
